More About Tom

The most important thing for you to know about me is that my commitment to you is to treat every purchase and sale as if it were my own. A native of Chicago, I was privileged to spend summers by the sea in Narragansett, R.I. After graduating URI, I moved to Little Compton, R.I. Like many young folks, the city called, and I answered by moving to Boston’s South End (the sea still called and I had a house in Provincetown as well). Invited to a dinner party in Gloucester, I fell in love with the beauty of Cape Ann and bought a house with the ocean view I’d longed for the next day. It was the best impromptu decision. Cape Ann is a special place and I’ve never felt more a part of a community. Professionally, I worked in sales and sales leadership for two Fortune 500 companies, IBM and Dun & Bradstreet. There I negotiated complex, multi-million dollar contracts, but Real Estate was in my blood and I decided to leave corporate America to pursue my passion. Engel & Völkers By the Sea was my top choice for the leadership and teamwork I enjoy here. I believe in giving back to my community and have been active on several boards (Cape Ann Symphony, Gloucester Stage Company, Eastern Point Yacht Club). I have also had the pleasure to serve as a volunteer at DenMar Nursing Home. I have been a member of the Human Right’s Campaign Federal Club for over two decades. If Cape Ann is calling you, I would be pleased to share my 20 years of experience living here with you. My commitment to you remains, to treat every purchase and sale as if it were mine.
