Salem

Salem is a bedrock of history featuring a bustling and sophisticated downtown, the grand mansions and cobblestone streets of the McIntire District, a busy waterfront to dine and shop on, and the quaint waterfront community at the Salem Willows. Much of the city's culture and lore is reflected as the location for the infamous Salem witch trials of 1692. Salem offers ferry service to Boston six months out of the year and free admission to the world-class Peabody Essex Museum for residents. Hocus Pocus and parts of American Hustle were filmed here, and Alexander Graham Bell and Nathaniel Hawthorne were notable residents.
